don1976 Posted July 10, 2016 #2 Share Posted July 10, 2016 Hi Dazman. My wife wants to know about the hairdryers in the staterooms. Are they decent or just like a typical travel type dryer. We're leaving behind sunny Yorkshire on Saturday to board the Epic on Sunday in Barcelona. Sent from my ONE A2003 using Tapatalk
Dazman61 Posted July 10, 2016 Author #3 Share Posted July 10, 2016 Hi don,my wife used the hairdryer regularly and said it was ok better than a travel dryer, she said there is a small button on dryer that has to depressed whilst using or it keeps cutting out, hope this helps and any other questions feel free to ask
AutumnNight Posted July 11, 2016 #4 Share Posted July 11, 2016 How was the entertainment? Did you do any of the sea day activities (trivia, bingo, glow party, etc)
Dazman61 Posted July 11, 2016 Author #5 Share Posted July 11, 2016 Hi,we did a few of the trivia quizzes, they ranged from music trivia through different decades,tv,film, sport ect but not too many people in attendance but we enjoyed them, didnt do bingo but must recommend the howl at the moon piano show which is on regularly adults only but so entertaining, didnt do the presilla show in main theatre as it was plagued with tech problems so they replaced it with a dance based show which we did see and was just so so,hope this was helpful,if not please ask
gl1200a Posted July 11, 2016 #6 Share Posted July 11, 2016 With it being so port intensive, what are the hours like for the casino? Thanks

Rare richstowe Posted July 11, 2016 #8 Share Posted July 11, 2016 Did you go ashore in Marseille and Cannes ? How did the tenders work in Cannes ? Long waits ? In Marseille , what did you do . We are trying to figure out how to get into town around the old port. There is said to be a free shuttle run by the port . Any info ? Otherwise thinking of going by taxi . thanks
Dazman61 Posted July 11, 2016 Author #9 Share Posted July 11, 2016 Hi,tendering in Cannes was very easy, they use the ships lifeboats as tenders and you book an allocated time slot that suits you on your interactive t.v in cabin or at guest services.the tender drops you to the left side of the marina and its a direct walk along the promenade to the beaches, cafes and restaurants we spent the morning on the beach and it was a really nice place but really expensive shops. As for Marseille as soon as you get off the ship you can either get a taxi(plenty available)or the port offer a return coach shuttle into the old port area for 15 dollars each which is charged to your room, coaches run frequently to and from old port and drop off and pick up is in the same place about 5 minutes walk from old port...hope this is helpful
Rare BamaVol Posted July 11, 2016 #10 Share Posted July 11, 2016 (edited) How was the entertainment? Did you do any of the sea day activities (trivia, bingo, glow party, etc) On our May 15 sailing, the "Perfect Couple" game was fun. I may be wrong about the name. It used to be called the Not-so Newlywed Game. Avoid the "Who Wants to be a Bazillionaire". It was lame and guests needed assistance with every question after the first. It didn't help that the emcee did not speak English well and mispronounced key words in every question. We played "Deal or No Deal" and as usual weren't chosen to compete and didn't do well on the card either. On top of that, the first player consistently guessed wrong and won A PENNY! I sat through the final day Bingo so I could hear the free cruise drawing and there a decided lack of enthusiasm. Of course, YMMV. ladyref Posted July 24, 2016 #11 Share Posted July 24, 2016 Hi and thanks for helping. I have never been on a cruise before so it's quite daunting... Firstly, water - is it safe to drink from the tap? Does every room have a mini bar and if so, are there any bottled drinks that I could empty and replace with water so it's cool? I can't go to sleep at night without having water beside me... Restaurants, we are a party of 5 with my 83 yr old Mother in Law - I don't want to have to stand and wait for a table at night, is it better to book before I go? Is there a kettle in the room for coffee? What time do you suggest boarding on the Sunday in Barcelona? Thank you!:):)
tiggrbaby Posted July 24, 2016 #12 Share Posted July 24, 2016 Hope you had a fab time! We will be on the ship in October. Was wondering what time boarding begins and if there is a better time to avoid long lines. Also, what transportation works best to the port? Do you happen to have copies of the dailies? Thanks!
