Tour from Port of Miami ending at Ft Lauderdale Aiport?

We're cruising on RCL Empress of the Seas, returning on Monday August 1st. Our flight isn't until the evening, so we were going to book one of the post-cruise tours with the airport drop off - either the Everglades Tour or the Miami hop on and hop off tour.

 

However, for some reason these do not appear to be available for our particular cruise. We booked the cruise several weeks ago and these excursions appeared available. When I tried to book them last week, they were not (I even called RCL - the agent thought it was strange that they didn't appear available).

 

Are there any private companies that will do such a tour? We will have 2 kids with us, ages 6 and 4, so that is also a concern.

Rent a car, put the bags in the trunk, and then go where you want for the day. Avis, Hertz and others have downtown Miami locations close to POM ($12 cab ride) or National, Alamo & Thrifty offer free shuttles form POM to their MIA airport location. Return the car to FLL in the afternoon and catch your flight home. :cool:
