VIP free cruise offer

In the past I have always been offered free cruises for the next couple of months when they are so slow.

This year I have been receiving nothing but things about tournaments at sea with at most a couple of hundred off.

Last time I sailed with them I got the snap back offer but nothing that good since.

Am I off the free cruise list or have they cut back on this promotion??

If you already have a cruise booked when you are on a cruise, the casino staff is not allowed to offer you a bounce back offer onboard; however, call the casino staff on land when you get home because they are allowed to give you a bounce back offer even if you have another cruise booked.

Other than that, I think you are correct. Carnival is not offering the free cruises now that they offered during the depths of the Great Recession. They do continue to offer the Premier cruises with casino cash, a discount, gifts, drinks on us card, and special events onboard. And if you do a Premier cruise, that will qualify you for the Ultra Premier cruises in the fall which have much better benefits.

Actually that is not true, I received a free cruise offer from the Casino last month and we are boarding the Sensation next month with that offer.

It isn't really how much you spend it is how much you gamble.

I don't think anyone knows for sure how some of the perks are awarded. Other perks are a little more clear. Here is the break down of how some of the perks are awarded.

To get a DOU (drinks on us card) for drinks in the casino you need 1000 points on a 5 day and 1500 points on a 7 day cruise. In the slot machine $2.50 in equals one point.

Remember that is money run through the machine, not out of your pocket. I promise you I am not spending $3,750 of my own money to get a DOU card.

If you have 5000 points from your previous cruise you will have a DOU card waiting for you. Other than this benefit points do not carry over from cruise to cruise.

Premier offers are made if you accumulate 7500 points in one year. I am uncertain how long you remain on the list. I have not booked them and been invited in the next release but have also likely requalified.

Ultra and Elite are the next higher levels.

Bounce back offers are the most difficult to figure out. The best answer I have heard is there are X number per cruise and they are awarding starting with the most points and when they are gone that is it. The "having a cruise booked" sometime factors in and other time does not seem to factor if you are made an offer.

Very good information..DW gets casino offers but she is a low roller. IMO ther is no such thing as a free lunch. BUT, the heavy hitters keep the cruise prices lower.

My personal experience. I was offered a bounce back lat cruise and I didn't play any more or less then my previous three cruises. So who knows what criteria they use or if they stick to it from ship to ship. The last free cruise through pack and play offers was last received two years ago. Don't think they are offering that anymore or on a very limited basis.

Thanks for info. I thought when I did not use the bounce back offer I would get one this fall. Now I'll use the free cruise I have from NCL.

Their free is a little more expensive but their drinks are comp. in Casino without the requirement for qualification.

Just a random question from a non-gambler: How much do you have to spend in the Casino to get offered these perks? (Free cruise, free drinks etc.)

I have no idea because I actually won for a change and played with their money, paid off the S&S account before getting off the ship which was under $2000 (this included drinks, spa, shore excursions and gambling etc) and brought money home. Nothing but luck and will probably never happen again.
