Best Bang for my buck - drink card

We are cruising next month on the Victory and have the drink card; we are not super serious drinkers (the drink card has been purchased for us), but I do like to indulge in a "stronger" adult beverage at times; with that being said, what do you find to be a tasty, more potent adult beverage? I liked Kiss on the Lips, but not much punch to it....

Twilight Zone is supposed to be good and the Mocha Chocolate Getaway. Kiss On The Lips is my favorite.

Hint: Pick out a Bartender you like, and keep going back to them for the duration of the cruise. Take care of them upfront and they will take care of you for the week. Guarantee whatever you order will have a little extra "kick" to it ;). It's not called bribery. It's called an investment in your drinking experience :p

Gratuity is included by I presume you can add a little extra? I am a firm believer in your system, take care of them and they will take care of you :D

Yes the gratuity is included when you purchase Cheers. You will need to sign a receipt so if you want to add extra you can either do it on there or tip cash. I go the cash route.

Well, since you asked, if it were me I would go straight for the single malt scotches. That's the only possible way I could get any bang for the Cheers package bucks.

If I discovered they had a decent rye in stock I'd probably down a few Old Fashioneds and a Manhattan or two too.

But hey, since yours was a gift, just get bunches of whatever tastes good to you! lol, that's a problem I'd like to have. :)

The Victory has the Alchemy Bar, which has lots of great drinks that are usually on the stronger side.

Otherwise, anything frozen tends to have less alcohol in it. Martinis are always strong, even if it is one of their specialty martinis that has other things mixed in. The Blue Moon Martini has pineapple juice and blue curacao, so it is sweet, but definitely still packs a punch, and you can order top shelf vodkas like Grey Goose or Belvedere.

We tipped $1 extra on each drink (using Cheers) and found we got spectacular service.

I know your original post was asking for drinks with a punch so you can use your Cheers! card, but are you aware that with the Cheers package you can get non-alcoholic drinks specialty coffees, sodas, waters, juices, zero-alcoholic frozen drinks, milk shakes and maybe more. Just search on Carnival's website for beverage packages.

Bon voyage!!

We just got off the Elation today and had the Cheers package for the first time.

We are not big drinkers but found a nifty little trick for stronger drinks.

We knew we could never drink 15 drinks a day and we like the frozen drinks which seem to be weak so we would order our frozen drink and sip on it for 5 minutes and then order a shot (of whatever we wanted) and added it to our drink! Works awesome, you get the floater, only 5 min after you get your drink :)

We found that since they now included the specialty coffees, milkshakes and energy drinks that it was well worth the price!

There was a margarita in the sports bar that had three shots of different tequila in it. Two of those and I was done.

All bars on Carnival ships serve the Classic Margarita. 2 jiggers of tequila, 1 jigger of Patron Citronage, and a splash or 2 of margarita mix. There is no 3 jigger of tequila margaritas unless you specifically order it and you will pay more if not on cheers and will not get it if on cheers.

The break even point for the Cheers card is not 15 drinks, It is about 4 to 6 depending which level of liquor you order. In fact, there is at least one scotch on board that will bring your break even point to 1 drink a day.

I should have been more clear, we were not concerned with hitting the 15 drink limit daily but we knew we wouldn't so we choose to turn the 5-8 drinks we did have into doubles :)

I thought I would be concerned with the "break even" point but really didn't think about it all week.

With the specialty coffees included, we found it was def worth the cost for us!

We cruised the dream in March and had the cheers program. I added up my bill at the end of the cruise and we would have spent $950. Cheers cost us $800 so it was worth it to us. We are on the magic in 18 days and purchased cheers again. I had a $200 credit from my carnival card so it only cost me $600 this time. I really like the convenience of it. I usually have a Bloody Mary in the morning, a few drink of the days or rum treasure from red frog pub by the pool during the day. Glass of wine at dinner and a few cocktails in the evening at the casino. I also like to try different drinks and if I don't like them then it's not a big deal. I just order something else.
