We are docking at 8:00am on Wednesday. I wanted to schedule a tour at 8:45am that is meeting in the dock yard. How long does it take to dock and exit the ship? Newbie cruiser here! Thanks in advance for your responses.:)

BA sail from NYC to Bermuda on Sunday, slowly - on 3 out of 4 engines (we're cruising her, feeling almost motionless with calm sea conditions at 12 to 15 knots only) with Wednesday morning arrival, Atlantic Time - typically about 1 hour after rounding the turn @ sunrise & thru the coral reefs heading toward St. George's first before reaching Dockyard. Unlikely to be delayed unless it's low tide, given her tonnage, often following X's Summit (or vice versa) and tend to be early instead of late, at the dock around 7 AM local/ship time (6 AM, EDT)

When we sailed this May, gangways were down & ready, and early birds were streaming along Heritage Wharf at 7:45 AM as we watched over breakfast leisurely at the MDR. It's an easy & flat 10 minutes (or less) walk to the taxi/bus/tour/tram/ferry pickup point where the operators/guides will be waiting, usually hold up big signs. Tourism is their lifelines and they monitor the ships's scheduled/actual arrival - just make sure you have their mobile # and can get in touch with them as necessary in case of any unexpected incident on arrival.

You are free to come & go for the next 2.5 days and not in a rush to return to the ship until Friday afternoon, odds are that the tour will wait for you - why not email/ask them about their protocols and procedures of a late arrival. Ship's Navigation Channel (Ch. 21) will help you keep track of her approximate locations while at sea and Bow Camera (Ch. 22) will help you see ahead, for anyone to reference the landmarks approaching the islands, even while staying "Insides" or can't tell looking out those picture windows or balcony in case of limited/poor visibility, etc.

Happy cruising & safe voyage !

You will most likely be ok but since you will be there three days why risk it? Can't you do that tour one of the other days?
