No makeup artists on board Carnival ships!

I just found out there are no makeup artists on board the Carnival Elation :( I had planned to do my own hair and get my makeup done but I guess I misunderstood the rep initially. Of course those females who are attending aren't experts in hair or makeup... guess I better start practicing!

Norwegian doesn't do makeup, either. I was able to find a local salon that offered "lessons" for $30. As someone who occasionally wears a little mascara (very occasionally) I was nervous, but they got me up to speed and gave me really nice instructions to take with. Might be worth looking into if you're worried :)

I think my makeup turned out great! The person who helped me at the salon really listened and gave me a pretty, feminine look without making me feel like I had makeup caked on. I even managed eyeliner, definitely an achievement for me! (I'll post some photos soon - came home to a dead modem and the replacement just arrived today.)
