For Those Who Regularly Cruise Carnival

Carnival is like dating in Junior High. It's new, exciting and you learn the ropes. Then you graduate, get more education and appreciate that learning experience but there is better. I have no desire to spend vacation standing in a line or needing an iron lung to play in the Casino. Carnival can have all the families, there is better.

with your apr 2016 cruise on the carnival conquest it looks like you flunked high school and got sent back to junior high. poor you.

I gave my family options for our cruise next year, Vista, Allure, Harmony, NCL but they all choose Carnival Vista for various reasons. My mom and sister like the food and casino better on Carnival and my daughter likes the teen program better based on past experience. I would have liked Harmony but went with the majority, which was all 12 minus me, who wanted an 8 night cruise vs a 7. I like Carnival because of the price, ports, and many things to me seemed less hassle free (like gift cards, billing).

After cruising on RCCL, NCL, Princess, and Carnival - we have decided that Carnival is our favorite: the food is better and more consistent, the bed is more comfortable, we love the kids/teens program, we love the Dr. Seuss activities and 2.0 features and we don't feel like we get overcharged for any of the extras. With that said, we would not hesitate to do RCCL & Princess again if the price and itinerary was right. We especially enjoy the larger RCCL ships! We really don't like NCL and would have to think hard about going with them again.

I liked RCL's parade down the mall to the atrium. It's beautiful. Prices too high.

HAL's Westerdam was one ugly ship, couldn't get waited on in the MDR no matter the time sitting alone or with others. The atrium is in the dungeon and looks like it. No one down there. Guest Services, excursion desk and future cruise sales are there.

Please tell me why you would choose or not choose Carnival Ships over other lines. Is it the cabins, the food, the entertainment, the itineraries, or just the overall treatment on Carnival. I'm curious because I've never traveled on Carnival but they seem to have pretty good itineraries.

It's mostly about the price. Also, we have kids now and I want to travel with a cruise line that caters to families.

As many have stated before, it's primarily the value. I first cruised with them back in 2000 and have noticed the cutbacks. While Carnival may not be the value it once was it still provides me with what I'm looking for in a cruise vacation because I have friends in Low Places!!! :D

Value

Proximity to ports

Cabin sizes

Cost. That is the sole reason. I have cruised 1 time on Celebrity, once on Disney and hoping to do either Royal or NCL next time. Honestly Celebrity was my favorite, but sometimes it comes down to price. Not always, but sometimes. There are times when price is not the Deciding factor and I will go elsewhere. But sometimes I want the cheapest getaway I can find. Usually that is Carnival.

I like Carnival- don't get me wrong. Sometimes I feel like they have cut too much and I don't want to deal with that. But I still have a nice experience with Carnival.

Carnival offers a good product with something for all ages.

On board activities to port consistence to access to product (sailing from many USA ports), CCL offers a lot.

We don't cruise out of line loyalty but out of vacation wants; when we want to just chillax w quality everywhere else we look to other lines first (HAL & Princes) but when we want varied life at all times and the same quality as the chillax choices we look to CCL (and NCL and RCI).
