dmk Posted October 27, 2005 #2 Share Posted October 27, 2005 Frankly, if I haven't used the service of the concierge, I don't tip anything.
Karynanne Posted October 27, 2005 #3 Share Posted October 27, 2005 Suggested tipping is $4.00/per day, per person.
newmexicoNita Posted October 28, 2005 #4 Share Posted October 28, 2005 the $4 per day, I have never seen that before: we have tipped as little as $20 when we asked very little of our conciege and as much as $100 when her was at our beckin call. He escorted us to dinner every night, stopped by late in the afternoon when we were having cocktails in our cabin with two other couples to make sure every thing was alright and made reservations for us for the specialty restaurants. Brucemcdou Posted October 28, 2005 #5 Share Posted October 28, 2005 CrusingJoe - As in a hotel, there's no obligation to tip the concierge if you don't use their services. If you do, it would be reasonable to tip $5 - $50 or more depending on the services he/she provides you. If he/she makes a reservation in a restaurant for you or arranges a rental car - $5. If he/she arranges all your flights, car service, and hotel room at your port of arrival - $50 - $100. Celebrity's the only cruise line on which the concierges are all members of Clefs d'Or, a prestigious world-wide organization of experienced concierges. They should be able to take care of virtually any request you make that's legal. My partner works as a concierge at a luxury hotel here in San Francisco and they get a lot of very simple requests and a few wacky ones just to make it interesting! NMnita I may have not understood the original question...I was answering regarding the cabin attendant in Concierge Class, not just using the ship's conceirge...hope this clarifies it... Karyn Thanks Karyn, I had no reason to doubt you, I just didn't know. Now I have a clearer idea. Seems we all have our way of saying thank you for your services.
