Berlin advice?

Hi – very seriously considering a Baltic/Northern European cruise. Every port on most itineraries from most cruise lines looks terrific.

The one port I have reservations about is Berlin (aka Warnemunde). It seems it isn’t really Berlin, but rather Berlin is roughly a 3-hr ride from the Warnemunde port.

I’d rather not deal with a 3-hr ride to see the sites, even though Berlin itself is indeed a great city.

Any recommendations on nice things to see and do that are closer to this port?

Warnemuende itself and Rostock are good options. The Baltic itinerary is quite strenuous anyway, so a day just hanging out in small towns nearby sounds good. You get more detailed information on the destination forum.

Berlin is a great place to visit but the time you would have there on a cruise excursion wouldn't do it justice.

 

Rostock is a nice place to visit from Warnemunde.

Warnemunde is a nice town but not much there.
