Hi,

Fooling around with pricing here and wondered if we put (4) adults in a Two Bedroom Haven Villa do we all get the 5 perks...so (2) would sail free and we would just split the cost 4 ways? has anyone done this? it seems to good to be true...

Im figuring there has to be a catch...

does anyone else see this as a value way to cruise at the highest level? or will we still feel cramped?

I'll break this down as best as I can without confusing you or myself lol. Third and fourth sail free, so yes, the cabin fee split four ways is a pretty good price. The drink package only applies to the first two guests listed on the reservation. Same with the dining and free gratuities. The 250 internet minutes can be used by everyone in the suite. The two bedroom suite is actually more attractive to me than the DOS on the BA. It has two bathrooms and albeit a small one, a second bedroom. The DOS only has one bedroom and one bathroom. With four people, I'd chose the two bedroom suite. I turned down a free upgrade to the DOS for this very reason. Now, if you don't mind sharing one bathroom between four people and the other two sleeping in the main living area, then go for the DOS.

When Haven was a bit less expensive we would book two separate suites. Last two cruises were in the two bedroom suite on the Epic and the DOS on the Escape. We only book when third and fourth sail free because it saves us money [emoji4]. Escape is the only ship that has a DOS with an actual second bedroom and another bathroom. Also, Haven guests do not pay the 18% gratuity that is added onto the promo UBP and SDP.

I thought Haven cabins (at the least the "top tier" - like the 2 bedroom) that all guests have access to the drink package, etc.

I will be traveling on a NCL ship soon (free casino cruise) and am looking at the 2 bedroom to take 2 adult "kids" with us.... I thought the people I have to call (casino) said it was anyone in the cabin of "age" for the drinks package.

On Celebrity the top 2 (or is it 3?) suite categories get unlimited drinks for all in the cabin and also access to a club that offers drinks all day (no charge).

Does the bar in the Haven charge for haven guests?

Do you think they might have been talking about the CAS drink card for everyone in the suite?

I'm not sure if this applies to your sailing but...

We are in a Haven suite & the perks such as UDP & UBP apply only to the first 2 guests (at least in our case it does). And the other two guests (there are 4 of us) are required to purchase the UBP (roughly $1800) and we will purchase the other UDP (roughly $280). So it does add up.

We will just split the extra UBP & UDP costs between the four of us.

Cheers,

Sandy

No as I stated at the very beginning only 2 in a cabin qualify for the free gratuities, WiFi, Drink package , dinning package etc. The ONLY thing in the Haven and suites that is not charged for anyone is the service charge on the UBP, SDP or whatever its called currently (the 18%)

and YES if you do NOT have the UBP then you will be charged

Those T&C are for passengers that actually purchase the UBP. This does not apply to the UBP when given as a perk. There is nothing on either of my invoices that indicates a charge for the UBP. Passengers 3 & 4 are only being charged for port fees and taxes.

Exactly what some others said. When the First 2 receive the packages as a perk, it is not required for the others in cabin to purchase said perks.

I also agree with someone that said put 1 of each couple as the 1st and 2nd passengers.

Then each couple will have 1 person with beverage/dining/daily service charge and the other half of the couples can just purchase as they go, or purchase the packages if they choose. Also each couple would have 1 person getting the daily service charge paid and one person that would be charged.

So by doing it that way, it makes in all equal in my view

DO your invoices specifically say that all of them have it? or could it have been a time prior to it being just 1 &2 pass gets the perk.. on my vacation summery it does state that just 2 of us out of the 5 have the perks, the additional ones I needed to but it COULD have been because they werent on the first booking> I added my kids at a later date

Can you get an H6 instead? Huge balcony, living room bed fits two....

Anyway, the second bedroom on H4 is tiny, little storage, small bathroom. No way would I pay 1800 bucks / person for a week in there- and with the tiny balcony in H4- nope. If one of the gang sleeps in the living room area, there is zero privacy for those in the master.

Remember only the first 2 get the "freebies" , and the excursion credit as well as wifi are per cabin.

I seriously would not be comfortable in the H4 if you are two couples. If it is 4 girlfriends or parents with adult kids- ok. This is just ME- we have done H4 on the jewel class and they are laid out better than the H4 on the Away class.

Others have had no problem sharing it for 2 couples . Some have mentioned switching the master bedroom midweek....

I think of the H 4 as a suite for parents and kids.

No, no. ONLY PARTIALLY TRUE!

HAVEN guests are NOT charged the 18% . When the guests are non - Haven, the 18% IS charged and will be seen on the invoice. The 18% is absolutely charged for non- Haven guests ( unless it was booked before this policy was in place, quite a while ago)

Sorry if I didn't make it clear before. The only people on both my upcoming cruises that will receive the UBP/SDP promo perks will be pax 1 & 2. My amenities confirmation is clear about that. None of the additional pax will receive those perks. They can purchase them separately, but it is not a requirement.

Ha! No worries [emoji2]. The response you quoted was my reply to someone who disputed when I told them that the entire cabin does not need to purchase the UBP when it's offered as a perk. Can you imagine the uproar in this forum if that were the case [emoji33].

I seem to remember a bit ago that NCL tried that (all needed to purchase UBP if over 21 ) cant remember when but its in the back of my mind,, and yes! there was an uproar,, but then again I may be remembering incorrectly! I am sailing in 5 days so my mind is totaly overwhelmed making sure I have packed what I need not to even mention my husband and 3 boys!!! go figure they all have a VERY lackadaisical attitude to this all!!

When bought separately (not apart of a promo) then yes, everyone in the cabin needs to buy the UBP even if only one pax wants it. I understand the policy, but it sucks!

Lol no, we must not forget the spouse and the offspring. I'm sure you'll have a great time [emoji2]
