Oh no, theres straight up tripping hazards. Theres one right by the bonzai sushi place. It was very uncomfortable trying to eat while person after person took a dive, slipped or tripped. Theres 2 other similar places. This is on top of the typical slippery / harard prone areas of all cruise ships.

On the 2nd day of our August 6th cruise, my daughter slipped and fell. Landed right on her chin, didn't even have time to break her fall, 6 stitches. No problem with medical until it was time to take the stitches out, they wanted $150 , that didn't happen!

sounds like a bad design flaw in the ship. hopefully they fix it in vista 2

When we were at Diamond party, the Assistant Captain said the 2018 Horizon would be almost identical, but no idea about the name or design for the 2020 ship. Hopefully they will take a good look at the amount of falls and address the situation. I'm hoping the 2020 ship will be completely different, I just didn't think the Vista had that wow factor. I'm not against smoking, it's a personal choice, but the way the casino is set up the smoke in the round bar in the middle just goes up and I didn't think the "new and improved" ventilation system was doing it's job.

It had the wow factor for us, but it was a wow *** factor. We were not impressed

It's been announced that the Havana area is now private until 7pm rather than 5pm.

Not sure what difference it will make but seems like good thing to me!

It is going to make a HUGE difference. I just got off the Vista on August 18th. We had one of the Havana suites. People lined up to get in the area at 4:30 and by 5:03 (yes, I timed it), the area was over run by teens in the jacuzzi and kids in the pool. It was a bit frustrating on port days because it seemed like we got back on the ship every day right around 5:00 PM. Would have been fantastic to have been able to cool off in the pool or enjoy sailing away from port without all the mayhem. My family all agreed, they should extend the time and it was the ONE negative about the Havana area. I can't believe it changed to 7:00 the very next cruise, but I'm happy for those cruising afterwards who paid for the area.

Oh, and oddly enough, the one jacuzzi that the teens took over every single day broke down half way through the cruise and never was open again for the remainder of the cruise.

Which Havana Suite were you in? We have 5233 in February and my only concern (very slight concern) is possibly hearing the noise from the band at the Havana Bar at night. Given we don't share a wall and we have a hallway along with our closet and bathroom to act as a buffer, I assume it is not an issue.

Can't wait !!!

I was in Havana suite # 5235.....we would have been neighbors. And no, you can not hear the Havana Bar AT ALL in these cabins.

The Dream has similar problems. Mainly when walking down the hall ways on each side of the ship on Lido between the pool area and the buffet. Nearly took several spills there myself.

We haven't booked a Havana cabin, but I have no issues with this type of change. I think one reason that Carnival doesn't keep it private 24/7 is because of $$$. They want to open it up so there is a larger audience to come in and spend money on drinks in the evening.

No, the Havana bar is always open to the public, so that can't be the reason. It's has a bar outside by the pool and inside for everyone.

No, the bar is always public. I'm really not sure why it doesn't stay private 24/7. Will be interesting to see how this goes in the Caribbean. I just don't want non Havana guests parading in front of my patio area.

I will be in that same cabin for our Spring Break cruise next March! Please come back and let us all know how you liked it. :D

I would hope Carnival would make the Havana area totally private. We pay whatever extra we have to so we can get just a little time to get away from the crowds. We just got back from a Pride cruise and we loved everything but Carnival doesn't stick to the rules. The serenity area always had children in the pool and hot tubes. They had no one handling the priority debark either. I have a disability and I know if I want to cruise then I have to work around it. It's just hard when they let some things be a free for all.
