Rare JoePDX Posted September 21, 2016 #5 Share Posted September 21, 2016 Highly recommend Ann's Tours for Saigon/Ho Chi Minh City. We toured the Mekong Delta with them one day and a city tour the next. Be sure and read the "About Us" page to get the heartwarming history of this company. https://www.anntours.com/default.aspx Joe
HunEBear Posted September 26, 2016 #6 Share Posted September 26, 2016 We were on a Silversea cruise earlier this year which stopped in Myanmar. We booked a ships tour to Shwedagon Pagoda at night. We did the night tour because only bare feet (no socks) are allowed inside. The stone floors get so hot from the sun during the day that they can burn your feet. raringtogo Posted October 16, 2016 #7 Share Posted October 16, 2016 for the Port of Danang or Chan May, I can highly recommend Tommy Dao Tours (Hoi An). We have used him a number of times and always find him to be professional, courteous and lots of fun. He can take large numbers of people as he has a few different options of vehicles including a new large van. You can contact him on tommyxuanha@gmail.com or check out his facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/tommydaotravel/?fref=ts

We are making plans for early 2018 to do a Mekong River cruise, plus stops in Hong Kong, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos and Thailand. Sorry, we won't be able to make it to Myanmar, Malaysia or Singapore. This includes tour options and locations that most surprised people for the ways you loved those specific spots. THANKS! Enjoy! happyglobetrotter Posted November 13, 2016 #11 Share Posted November 13, 2016 (edited) We were on the Volendam a few months ago and went to Myanmar for the first time. A cruise critic friend had recommended a great guide with good English skills....and we followed his advice. We did not regret it and now, we would like to recommend this very good guide as well. We visited Rangoon (Yangon and Bago) during the 2 days we spent in port. It was tiring but we saw all the highlights. Tony was very knowledgeable, pleasant and thorough. This was a wonderful 2 day tour, absolutely amazing and professional. He can be reached at tonyhlashwe@gmail.com :) Edited November 13, 2016 by happyglobetrotter
Gordo Posted November 13, 2016 #12 Share Posted November 13, 2016 Here is a second vote for Tours by Locals. We have used them for our Europe cruises and will be using them again for our Asia cruise in a week and a half for Hoi An, HCHM and Singapore. ladylurkalot Posted November 15, 2016 #13 Share Posted November 15, 2016 I can highly recommend the Don Boscoe Hotel School for a day trip when you are in Sihanoukville. They will meet you when you dock, and take you to a typical fishing village, some beautiful pagodas and temples, a local waterfall, and a beach. You will have a delicious lunch at the hotel, all prepared and served by local youngsters who are learning English and how to work in the hospitality sector. It was one of the highlights of our trip.
