Hello,

Traveling with family 15 people ages 2-80! Wondering if you could give me information, tips, ideas, advice about being on the Escape over Christmas. We will be at sea on both days. What have you done to make the time special for kids and the family? Where would you recommend we reserve for Christmas Eve and Christmas dinner? Does Santa typically make a visit to the ship? Thanks for your help!

I was on The Getaway over Christmas last year. YES, Santa Claus will make an appearance. I traveled as a Senior Solo passenger so cannot to special children's activities, but I would imagine there will be lots.

If you are all going to eat together on any night of the cruise, you will need reservations.

The ship will be decorated, with more than one gingerbread village on display.

Last year on The Getaway, the Senior Hotel Officers went through the ship singing Christmas Carols and led singing in the lobby.

It was so much fun I am going back again this year and taking friends with me.

oh wow.

When do they put the decorations up? We sail December 3rd. Will they all be up by then?

I was on a Thanksgiving cruise and Christmas decorations were already up for that cruise.

Did Christmas and New Years cruise on the Pearl a few years ago. There were many holiday activities that were going on all around the ship. I remember a few afternoon/evenings where they had caroling, reading of christmas stories and Santa.

I recall seeing Santa on a few occasions during the cruise. He even made a few strolls around the pool deck gathering quite a crowd of kids.

I will actually be going on a Christmas cruise this year on the Jade and it's only 7 of us but we decided to have some fun with the presents this year and are doing a secret santa and white elephant. Age range for my family is from 17-70. We are so excited to be on a cruise for the holiday since we've only done over Thanksgiving.
