Hi, going on Norwegian Star in October which disembarks in Rome. Our flight is not until 19.45 so will have rather a long day and need to find some way to fill this time. NCL excursion rather pricey - has anyone arranged an excursion themselves in Rome. Any help gratefully received. Thanks

If Barcelona, take the HoHo bus to see the sights. 25Euro each. The blue bus has La Sagrada Familia as one of its stops so you could at least see the awesome facades on each side.

Rome?? Ship probably docks in Civitavecchia which is about 90 minutes from Rome. I agree with Turtle to ask on the Ports of Call board for ideas.

We used a tour company called cant be missed tours. They were very good

Did you use them for Rome or Barcelona? OP's title says disembarking in Barcelona but then post mentions Rome twice, doesn't mention Barcelona.

Used them in Rome. In Barcelona I would do the hop on hop off double decker bus. Only trick would be where to put your luggage.

The OP is on the October 12 Star sailing, embarking in Barcelona, disembarking in Civitavecchia October 23.

NCL and many independent operators offer half-day or full-day disembarkation excursions for people in the OP's situation. There will be loads of advice in the Ports of Call board and on sites like Tripadvisor.

We were in the same situation last week. We booked a day room at a hotel for about 60 euro. We then got the bus to Parc Guell, had a leisurely lunch and then showered/changed before heading to airport.

Sorry, realised response not relevant. I just read the thread title.
