RealNorwegianCruiser Posted September 4, 2016 #1 Share Posted September 4, 2016 Finally arrived Istanbul last night, and had a walk around Blue Mosque, Spice Market and Hagia Sophia. Feels safe, the sellers acts as they always do, taxi drivers tries to cheat you as before. In other words: Everything feels normal in this beautiful world city! There is only one thing that is different: VERY few "western" tourists. Beeing a blonde couple, my wife and I really stands out. YES there is other, but is is FEW. Our chauffeur from our airport transfer yesterday, said we was his first "Europeans" he had has customers the last two months.. Sad for Istanbul, great for us personally.. https://c8.staticflickr.com/9/8176/29451597135_7e68d12988_b.jpg' alt='29451597135_7e68d12988_b.jpg'>The Blue Mosque through the view of MY eyes by Tor Bernhard Slaathaug, on Flickr[/img]
Rare Host Bonjour Posted September 4, 2016 #2 Share Posted September 4, 2016 (edited) Thank you for the "Istanbul Today" update, Tor and for the fun "through your eyes" photo - it's very creative and an interesting look at the Blue Mosque! It's nice to see in the moment posts from members as well as "just returned" updates :) Enjoy your holiday. Hopefully at some point, there will be more people returning to Istanbul too.
