Allure casino

On Allure this week. All tables $10 or more. Craps too. Casino manager says all ships going to this. We like to cruise 4 or 5 times a year and gamble for fun. But this is high I think. Might have to look at other lines.

Just got off a celebrity cruise, everything is now $10 min bets. Best way to get the bets down us to stay away.

Minimum on blackjack has always been 10 on Oasis class, but craps was always 5. Ten is too steep for craps. Guess we won't be playing craps anymore. We usually have 3 bets with odds on the table. That would be $60 with a $10 minimum. No way am I spending that kind of money to gamble.

I was on oasis 2 weeks ago. minimum bets were $5. I don't think they can sustain a $10 minimum on an oasis class ship. most of the time there's not enough craps players to fill 2 tables even with a $5 minimum. If they add the $10 minimum to the crappiest odds at sea those tables are going to be empty.

Just trying to understand.... is it Minimum $10 per each bet or $10 Minimum per play?

Roulette, typically play outside only. Was $5 Min on MJ May. On Inside of Roulette, are you saying each number is $10 or play a least 10 bets inside for $1 each?

More votes I see for a smokeless Casino. Please make sure you let the Casino Mgr know you can't stand the smoke in the Casino. Let them know on the Survey after your cruise.

Just got off the Oasis last week. The casino was full of smoke. The smokers on the smoking side were extremely disrespectful and rude. Then they would come over to the non-smoking side, and of course, they might not smoke on that side, but they SMELLED of smoke because of being on the smoking side. You couldn't get away from the smoke. One lady was smoking heavily in the non-smoking side. I asked her nicely to put out her cigarette or return to the smoking side, but she proceeded to ask me if I worked for RCCL. When I told her no, she told me to mind my own business. I contacted the casino manager and security, but they did absolutely nothing. Shame on RCCL!!

Not sure how we can get a nonsmoking casino on rccl other then we have an organized boycott but I am sure that would go against the rccl terms and conditions and we would end up on shore (hmmm, no trip, no spending in a casino that pays the house odds higher then land based casinos..... I think I would save lots of money) maybe celebrity is my new ride.

RCCL reads these threads..... just keep complaining about smoking in the Casino. I could care less if they smoke in a designated area that is non public and out of the way where one doesn't normally travel.

Complain, complain, complain, every chance you get. Some will call us whiners when we complain but that is just the way it is... The SMOKERS all screamed before they banned smoking in Restaurants and look how that goes.

Smokers are becoming less and less numbers and have less of a vote. You want to play the casino, tell the Casino Mgr that you are a NON Smoker and would prefer NO SMOKING in the Casino. BET, BET, BET, many of the SMOKERS just show up there to have a bar and smoke and don't spend money in the Casino.

Ask your friends to complain.... Write letters/emails to RCCL.

I would play the slots if there was no smoking. Even the non-smoking side is full of smoke since people will smoke there. Too bad RC doesn't enforce no smoking in the casino. They would make more money. The casinos in IL are all non-smoking now and the smokers all said they would not go to the casinos, but there has been no loss of business due to the no smoking rules.

I agree, more people need to let casino mgt on the ships know. I must say it was a different world to be in the smoke free casino on celebrity.

Kalliekae,

I just noticed a typo in your post. You must have meant to say the since the smoking ban took effect in IL. The gaming revenue has plummeted . I feel silly correcting it, but I know what you tried to say.

Mistakes happen...

Actually I don't think that's what she was trying to say. Her post as written is most likely accurate - smokers threaten that they wont go if places are made smoke free, but in reality that doesn't pan out and revenue doesn't change.

I say this because the same debate was had in Australia when the government was considering banning smoking inside. Pubs, clubs, restaurants, casinos etc were all concerned they would go broke if smokers weren't allowed to indulge. None of that eventuated. Smoking is illegal inside any enclosed area pretty much everywhere in Australia now, and all the restaurants casinos etc are doing just fine in their revenue.

For those looking for a smoke free casino on a cruise, come and cruise out of an Australian port :)

Yes, yes, yes. Please let the Casino Mgr know if the smoking bothers you. It bothers me. We would spend so much more time PLAYING in the Casino if SMOKING was banned. A very large number of smokers in the Casino are just there smoking and NOT PLAYING.

I agree that smoking should be banned in all indoor areas.

Please keep telling all, sooner or later RCCL will listen. The only things smokers can fight this with, is their line that it would hurt business. I say just the opposite, it will help business.

When we were in port waiting to leave to do an excursion in San Juan, we had to walk thru the casino on the Allure to go to exit.

This was about 7am.

The casino was open, but nothing was running, because we were in port.

A couple were smoking on the smoking side reading books and drinking coffee at one of the gaming tables.

Guess it was the smoking section:eek:

I thought it was the smoking section when casino open.

Now I guess it is indoor smoking.

WOW

We will be cruising next week on a highly discounted fair for our Casino play. I will check it out and see if people are smoking in the Casino when it is not open for play. I will bring this up to the Casino Mgr if this is indeed happening.

I was promised a meeting with Casino Mgr shortly after boarding and will again let them know that the Casinos should be NON SMOKING.

People have been smoking in the casino when it is closed on every cruise we have taken. The casino is the de facto smoking lounge.

Thanks for doing that, find out who in corporate we can contact to raise the issue. Let us know how it goes.

Boy, Quantum sure was. On one end of the casino there was seating with no gaming there. You had to pass through the gauntlet of smoke to get to events that were in the forward area of the ship, or else remember to not come through that area.
