MSC Splendida smoking

Hi

Going on my first cruise next month. We have booked a balcony cabin and are very thrilled to experience our first cruise.

I am a smoker and have some questions. I would really enjoy having my morning cigarette on the balcony. How strict are the crew (and how can they see that I have been smoking there)? Is smoking allowed in the bars?

I see that there is a duty free shop. Do they sell danish cigarettes (Prince)? and how are the prices?

One more thing: We have upgraded to the allegrisimo adult. Does that include roomservice from the bars or is it only breakfast?

Smoking is not permitted on the balcony, just do't do it: not only for safety reasons but think about your neighbours who may want to enjoy a smokefree seaview in the morning.

Smoking is permitted in some of the bars and in some parts of the open decks.

Is your cruise going outside the EU (at least one port stop in a non-EU-country)? If not, the duty-free-shop will be closed.

Room service is not included in the basic allegrissimo package.

Splendida has a cigar lounge on deck 6. You can also smoke in the casino. There is an area on the pool deck for smokers. There's no smoking in any of the bars nor is it allowed on balconies (though that doesn't stop people from doing it!)

Room service is free with Fantastica Experience bookings (not Allegrissimo) though you pay for the individual items on the room service menu except breakfast list which is included. Room service food and drinks are included in the Premium Allegrissimo package along with the in-cabin mini-bar.

If you're on the sailing with Casablanca on the itinerary then, yes, the duty-free shop will be open. I don't know if they'll have Prince onboard - it's a small store with a limited product range.

Thank you for the replies :)

Yes, Casablanca is on the itenary, but if it's a small shop they probably won't have danish cigarettes, so better bring from home. How is the pricing on perfumes etc compared to airports?

In my opinion the aftershaves etc are more expensive - I buy Jean-Paul Gaultier aftershave for about £35 a bottle. It was 2 for €110 onboard - can't remember the individual prices
