Bock2Brooklyn Posted September 28, 2016 #1 Share Posted September 28, 2016 With all the changes with NCL, we just can't keep up anymore. We are new to NCL and have some questions about the Haven. 1. Can you have any restaurant delivered to you on a Haven Aft Balcony if you have paid the specialty restaurant charge for dinner? (I'm assuming you don't pay the room service charge and it comes out of the Dining Package). I understand I should tip my butler. ;) 2. Can you get hot breakfast without paying the room service charge ($7.95)? Again, we would tip whomever delivered it. We only plan to do this a few mornings. 3. We gamble on every cruise. What card is required to get bottled water in the casino? How does this work? 4. How soon once on board do we have to let the concierge know of what shows we want to see to get priority seating? NLH Arizona Posted September 28, 2016 #2 Share Posted September 28, 2016 2. Yes you can get any room service order without incurring any charges. 3. You will need a casino drink card. If you didn't book with CAS or haven't used a casino player's card before and have a status, you will have to get a players card at the casino and once you reach 1,500 points you will get a drink card. 12thMan Posted September 28, 2016 #3 Share Posted September 28, 2016 (edited) 1. Should be able to. 2. Yes, you can even let your butler know the night before and what time you would like it. Great for excursion days. 3. Schedule your shows before you board, then just let them know. Generally they already have your information and will leave you a voicemail. Bock2Brooklyn Posted September 28, 2016 Author #4 Share Posted September 28, 2016 Thank you for the information. We plan to sign up for the CAS onboard and we will ask questions about that on our first NCL cruise!
Two Wheels Only Posted September 29, 2016 #5 Share Posted September 29, 2016 1. Yes. You don't need to tip when the food is delivered since most tip at the end of the cruise. 2. Yes, also from any place serving breakfast including the Haven.
TYSONBOXER Posted September 29, 2016 #6 Share Posted September 29, 2016 Yes you can order room service from any specialty restaurant. I would give heads up to your butler and they will bring you menu from that restaurant. You can order hot breakfast the night before to your butler and they will set it up on your balcony. Anything good that you want just let your butler know and they will get it for you. You tip the butler at the end of the cruise, not after every meal. If you want to see a show let the concierge know and they will make reservations for you. They will even escort you to your seats for the show. I understand I should tip my butler. ;) If you are using your SDP/UDP, meals brought to your room by your butler are free. Otherwise you pay the a la cart cost per item. Tip your butler at the end of the cruise. 2. Can you get hot breakfast without paying the room service charge ($7.95)? Again, we would tip whomever delivered it. See my post at the following link for additional details. http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2406376 3. We gamble on every cruise. What card is required to get bottled water in the casino? How does this work? If you booked through the casino, you will get a drinks card. Otherwise If you are hot, golden, or VIP player, ask the casino host if the will get you a card. Otherwise you need to play an equivalent of $7500 in slots. 4. How soon once on board do we have to let the concierge know of what shows we want to see to get priority seating? Large ships have reserved seating for Havens guests in the theater. Small ships for owners suites and villas. The concierge would contact you for early seating for paid shows like Cirque, Illusionarium, Supper Club. Enjoy the Havens! Rare BirdTravels Posted September 29, 2016 #10 Share Posted September 29, 2016 how long does it take to get used to not tipping during the cruise. i guess the butler is used to it but will feel weird Your butler is not included in the DSC and does expect a tip at the end of the cruise. Our General practice is $10-$20 per person in room per day. The concierge also is tipped separately. And we always leave extra for the room steward based on size of room And service. Per person per day.
