3girlsmom Posted October 1, 2016 #27 Share Posted October 1, 2016 Niko was our Concierge representative on Silhouette in August. She was excellent, always approachable and very helpful. I'm happy she has been promoted, I'm sure you'll like her. Sent from my iPad using Forums Thanks BCJO, we look forward to meeting her!

Cheers, Heather Great Heather, thanks for letting me know. We're looking for friends to tour with us in Israel, can you email me and connect me with Mary Ann? Maybe she'd like to tour with us? We have a bunch of friend getting together in Rome, on the Sunday, the 30th before for dinner, let me know offline if you'd like to join us? Happy sailing, Jenna
cruiseacecat Posted October 1, 2016 #29 Share Posted October 1, 2016 I swear Anca could read my mind, she was able to do things before I even mentioned them. She was even able to get me an Alcove for a few days on a cruise even though they were fully booked months in advance. Just a very genuine, thoughtful lady. Anca was one of a kind. She is irreplaceable.

bigbenboys Posted October 1, 2016 #32 Share Posted October 1, 2016 I can't see true high tea in a cabin especially a sky suite or CS on S-Class without a proper table (that sounds so British), but that's just me. I think maybe there's is a difference between what some consider high tear and daily tea service. High tea is more of an event, with formal proper service, upscale treats, clotted cream, etc. Daily tear servvice includes many of the same items delivered to cabins, with tea, cookies, small sandwhiches and snacks. There are also daily snacks offered in Michaels Club, imetines the same snacks are offered in cabins. They use those little divided plates for these generally. I'll get the real story when I board on Nov 2. I am sure of two things, 1. I won't starve regardless and 2. If I ask for goodies to be in my cabin, I have absolutely no doubt they will show up, as they have for the other cruises I have done. Happy sailing, Jenna It may not be High tea. They did have the small cut sandwiches, scones with jam. I dont remember if they had white table clothes. I know they had cream, but not sure if it was clotted cream. It was thick cream in a small dish as was the jam. The best clotted cream I have ever had was in Cheddar England. What I was trying to get across was that tea and sandwiches were not in our suite as it had been on the cruise before.
Ayton lady Posted October 2, 2016 #33 Share Posted October 2, 2016 On our Solstice cruise in June (in a RS) we were told by our butler that they were stopping the tea in the afternoon in the suites and going to provide it down in Michael's club instead. He didn't know the date when it was going to start but none of the butlers were particularly happy about it. However, we had very poor service from him anyway and only got our first tea in the afternoon on day 4 when we rang him to enquire whether the service was no longer happening. He came that day but said they weren't allowed to leave food in the room if no one was there at the time so it only happened that one day!!!! Hence we didn't know whether to believe him about the stopping altogether. It seems it is true and will be fleet wide.

Happy sailing, Jenna Yes, there is a world of difference between High Tea and the suite teacart service. Although High Tea has become popular in the UK again (and extremely expensive) despite being British I have never really understood the point of a fourth large meal in a day! It is certainly not needed on a cruise. I do not see a High Tea in Michael's Club as a suitable substitute for a delivery of tea and snacks to our suite. The afternoon teacart very much has a place on a cruise and I would be extremely disappointed to see it go. However much we love Michael's Club, we have no desire to go there for afternoon tea - high or otherwise. Whatever we have done earlier in the day, this is our time for relaxing in our suite/on our balcony with our books. We may or may not have a little snack (and I do not drink tea or coffee) but my husband always has his tea while he reads his book. If Celebrity want to cut some work from the butlers' day, stop the ridiculous Chic night escort in the theatre and not something people enjoy. I should be very interested in your experience on your November cruise to set our expectations for ours in December. Jane2357 Posted December 29, 2016 #36 Share Posted December 29, 2016 She was even able to get me an Alcove for a few days on a cruise even though they were fully booked months in advance. I sincerely hope that I am misunderstanding this statement but it reads as if someone, who took the time to book an alcove well in advance of their cruise was what, booted from their reservation so it could be given to you, a suite guest? As someone whose next 2 of 3 cruises is in a suite - I'd be ashamed to think this was possible. Can we hope that there was a last minute cancellation? Gonzo70 Posted December 29, 2016 #37 Share Posted December 29, 2016 I doubt they'd boot someone; far more likely either an alcove was held back from general booking so that it would be available to someone with VIP status (i.e. suite, zenith etc.) or that it was attributable to somebody cancelling. Thank you for that explanation! :) While I like to avail myself sometimes of the perks of a suite - those perks should only extend so far.
TeeRick Posted December 30, 2016 #39 Share Posted December 30, 2016 I received an answer from Niko to an email I sent this week. Note that she will be going on vacation. "My name is Niko Balla and I am the Michael's Club Concierge here on Silhouette, but unfortunately will sign off for my vacation on January 19th. My colleague Manuela Becker will replace me till March 12th 2017."
