Excursions for a group on Celebrity

We have a group of 8 friends who are sailing with us. Right now we are all looking at excursions. Some of us want to do the same thing, but if DH and I reserve ours, what happens if it's too full for the rest of the group?

 

If I reserve all 8, will I have to pay for all 8?

Are your booking #'s all tied together? You will need the other's #'s. Call Capt Club and ask what you need to do to get it taken care of. Their booking and credit card on file, will be charged the amount of the tour.

 

Oh, if it is full, well, they cant go.

We booked separately but with the same T.A. And if..say...we book the excursions and the 2 more book and then the next two book and it's full....can we get a refund? We all want to do things together.

Have you considered booking an excursion through a private operator? We have not used the cruise line offered excursions in the last 5 years with the exception of booking a cabana on Labadee. There are many great ones to choose from, and we have been very pleased! They usually require a small deposit, then you pay in full the day of the excursion. We have done private excursions in St. Maarten, St. Thomas, St. Kitt's, Grand Cayman, Cozumel and Jamaica.

Most ship excursions can accommodate a lot of people - which is why many Cruise Critic member tend to avoid them. There are times where a ship excursion is preferable but it's impossible to say without knowing the ports. Check the Ports of Call section here on Cruise Critic.

 

But, to answer the question, yes, if you want to make the reservation for all eight, you'd have to pay for all eight. If you can get them to make their decision soon, have them do it and you'll be okay.

 

The important thing is that whatever the ship's designated meeting location is (probably the theatre), you all must be present before you go to collect your numbers. That way you'll all be on the same bus (or boat, or whatever).

 

If some of you purchase the shore excursion and it sells out before others can, you can always cancel and get a refund.
