We've just returned from a week on Placencia, the peninsula off of Belize. There's no compare and we'd like to return for a bit on our upcoming cruise. Has anyone every gone from the port and flown over there during the stop? If so, how did you manage it, how did you get to airport, what was the cost, etc..? If not that part of the country, then have you ventured off on your own to the various cayes?

I'm doubting you would be able to have any time there as it's in the Southern part of the country. There are a couple of early morning flights then nothing til midday. You would probably have to catch an early afternoon flight back to be able to get to your ship. Flights are about 40-45 minutes in length. The airport in Belize City is about 20 minutes from the cruise tender piers. Think spending US$500 ( maybe less if flights are in Bz $) for 2 people to spend a hour/ hour and a 1/2 walking around Placencia.
