Taxi to Romney Manor/Carabelle

There are 6 of us interested in going to Romney Manor & Carabelle Batik. This was a stop on a previous tour and we would love more time to explore the Manor, garden and batik.

 

We have all done island tours before, and just want transportation to/from the site so that we can spend time at our leisure there.

 

Is the best way to do this to grab a taxi at the port? What would the rate be?

You may be able to find a taxi at the port or walk in to town to the taxi stand at the Circus. Caribelle Batik/Romney manor is located in Old Road about 15 -20 min from town. Taxi fares are regulated and tours are not. A taxi fare is a ride from point to point one way. The last figures I saw online for taxi fares between town & Old Road was $ 13 US for transporting 1-4 people with a charge of $3 US for additional passengers. So the fare should be about $19-20 US each way. It may be difficult getting a ride back to town so you may either have your drive wait for you or agree on a time for the return ride. You may have to pay a wait charge.
