can0711 Posted October 17, 2016 #1 Share Posted October 17, 2016 Hello, I'm visiting Palma de Mallorca in November with a cruise, and we have a whole day there, I would like to know if it's possible to stroll around the city to see the main attractions or is public transport necessary? Or the hop-on-hop-off bus? Is it a big city?
Kfamilycruise Posted October 17, 2016 #2 Share Posted October 17, 2016 We went about 5 years ago and were able to do it by foot. It was a lot of walking, but as November isn't hot, as long as you don't have any medical conditions, you should be ok. Bring your walking shoes and enjoy! hkto Posted October 18, 2016 #3 Share Posted October 18, 2016 Yes its a reasonably big city but old town tourist and shopping area north of Cathedral is easily explored on foot. If you reach Plaza Espana (where main transport and bus terminal is) it'll be around a mile from Cathedral https://goo.gl/6HkuWz
quercus alba Posted October 18, 2016 #4 Share Posted October 18, 2016 We took bus to cathedral, then walked up to the castle and back down to the pier. Leisurely day.
JimnKaren Posted October 19, 2016 #5 Share Posted October 19, 2016 Don't be afraid to go down some side streets, lots of interesting things to see. Jim
samavarcruiser Posted October 20, 2016 #6 Share Posted October 20, 2016 I would highly recommend you to get one of those hop-on hop-off buses and then walk inside the old town, many little caffe shop and restaurant. we LOVED it :)
