My Family Time Dining?

Hello,

I was browsing on RCI's website and came across My Family Time Dining (http://www.royalcaribbean.com/findacruise/experiencetypes/product.do?pagename=onboard_prod_my_family_time_dining). This might be appealing for our family. Has anyone ever used this? How does this differ from MTD? What time does the evening's Adventure Ocean activity go until?

For us it meant dining at 5:30. At a certain time there are employees who come to the entrance to one of the dining rooms to get the kids. But kids could just go later; there's no special thing happening with the kids who are escorted.

AO has always seemed to go to about 11 on out cruises if I'm remembering right.

You pretty much need to be signed up for early seating or My Time Dining that's as early as early seating. We've done it both ways both.

You can ask the Adventure Ocean staff about when they will have someone there for pickup (they may require day-by-day signup), usually on a specific floor in the lobby outside the MDR. At the appointed time you would take the kid(s) to meet the staff (usually around 6:45).

You may need to request the waiter expedite the children's meals so that they are done eating in time. Otherwise the food comes out too slow and the kids end up rushing.

Another thing to keep an eye out for is if they do Adventure Dining, where the children have dinner at Adventure Ocean. Sometimes a nice quiet meal without the kids at all can be enjoyable. :)

Good info! Now I just have to find out how to book this....

gqboy1, regarding signing up for MFTD, from RCI's website:

Opt for My Family Time Dining® in our main dining room, and your kids will be served right away before Adventure Ocean® staff pick them up for a night of fun. Parents stay behind to relax and continue their meal.

Details

My Family Time Dining is offered for the first seating time in our main dining room, for children ages three to 11. Kids enjoy their meal within 40 minutes of seating, before heading to the evening's Adventure Ocean activities. The program starts the second evening you're onboard. After that, you can use it each evening or whenever you wish.

Reservations

Already booked your cruise? You can easily pre-register online for My Family Time Dining right now. Or, visit the Adventure Ocean Youth Program area while onboard to sign up.

Early Seating or MTD reservations around the same starting time as Early Seating.

You will still need to inform your server to expedite children's meals or they will be getting their main course at about the time you need to be taking the kid to the lobby for MFTD pickup.

@jmf - I'm trying to find out how to pre-register online.

@ nolesrule - The Adventure Ocean will be for the 4 year old. We'll still have the 23 months old with us. :)

Thanks for the additional information on MFTD.
