First time book that type of room.

Cruise is in Easter April 2017 Queensland from Sydney 8 night.

 

Understand that no room allocation until last week?

Is it a lottery on whether the room is mid-ship, front or rear?

yes if you book guarantee its like a lottery where you can end up anywhere, if your not fussed where you sleep you'll be ok

Room allocation can be done at any time. With RCL they usually allocate soon after booking in my experience, but it can be done later as well.

We are on Legend of the Seas at Christmas and booked guarantee balcony, got 6086.

Do remember with RCI they can change your cabin allocation too, right up until boarding.

We booked the same last year for 2 staterooms (Radiance balcony guarantee). Ended up with both midships and adjacent to each other - a great result in my book.

 

Allocation came through quite early and never changed.
