bigredva Posted October 23, 2016 #1 Share Posted October 23, 2016 I've heard that you only get charged for one week at the port even if you do a B2B and are gone for longer. Can anyone verify? Going to be on Carnival Magic 21 JAN and 28 JAN.
cruisingsherry Posted October 23, 2016 #2 Share Posted October 23, 2016 We live near and sail from Port Canaveral, we've never heard this. There are several hotels in the area, stay one night, you can leave your auto there for free they provide a shuttle to/from port. Also on 528 at the last exit before the port (north banana river dr. exit) there's cruise parking on north side, for a lot less $. Capt_BJ Posted October 23, 2016 #3 Share Posted October 23, 2016 I remember reading about tis. It wass not a 'policy' of the port but was a result of the way they handled payment in the parking lots. They had no way of knowing you hadn't left. Dunno if they have plugged that hole in their system but DO KNOW that they have made many changes as in general the port see lost revenue in the parking as a top priority ... they are also cracking down on lost revenue of commercial drop off failing to pay the fee ... esply UBER! The technology exits to scan your tag when you enter and rescan when you leave - airports almost ALWAYS have this to ensure you didn't just get a new ticket and try to make your 1 week of parking look like 1 hour! Has the port invested????? dunno Do you feel lucky? The two recommended off site parking places - each less than a 10 min ride from any terminal and charging $8.95 a day with advance (web) payment are http://parkcruise.com/ and http://parkportcanaveral.com/
