Yesrock52 Posted October 26, 2016 #1 Share Posted October 26, 2016 Hoping that somebody will be able to help with my query. Normally we cruise with P & O and opt for Freedom dining which is our preference, although when we first started cruising the only option was first or second sitting, buffet or select restaurants. Do Thomson have Freedom dining in much the same way as P & O? Many thanks. Chris.
Rare dronnygirl Posted October 26, 2016 #2 Share Posted October 26, 2016 All the Thomson ships are freedom dining. You have a choice of sharing a table or having your own - there is sometimes a short wait if you want a table to yourselves - but we've always enjoyed meeting other people at dinner. Enjoy your cruise!
jake 26 Posted October 26, 2016 #3 Share Posted October 26, 2016 (edited) It's as dronnygirl says, and just the same process as P&O. There are quite a few tables for two, but we also prefer to share from a social point of view. On Discovery the are 2 freedom restaurants, '47' and 'Gallery 47', the latter being the upper level of 47 but has an Italian menu. The Gallery is only open in the evening. We always used 47 for breakfast rather than the buffet 'Islands' as it is a lovely bright and airy setting, not as busy and quite relaxing. The menu for breakfast changes more than P&O although the normal items are always there. We found the food overall better than P&O.
