Transfers To Tampa Port

Crusing on Carnival Inspiration 1/7/06. There are 14 of us going. I already bought transfers from the cruise lines, totalling $500, (gulp!). Does anybody have any thoughts about just getting taxi's at the aiport.

We cruised from Tampa in February and there were nine of us (five adults, four kids - two with car seats) We decided to do a taxi/van instead of using RCCL just because of the high cost. We flew down the night before so our hotel offered shuttle service for $5.00 per person. We took a taxi on the way home to the airport and they had somebody stationed right as you got off the ship - I think for all of us it was $30.00 for van (maybe a little higher) but we still saved alot of money and we had tons of luggage, car seats, strollers. I would also suggest getting on the Tampa airport website they have shuttle service listed with phone numbers that you could call ahead and have somebody waiting for you! Good lucK!
