Tenders and wheel-chairs

Is it possible to do a tender with a wheel-chair or scooter? Thank you for any info you can provide.

Tenders are not accessible by scooters as you usually have to negotiate flights of stairs. I have seen a folding wheelchair taken only if the person is able to walk down several stairs and requires minimal assistance. Weather conditions can make it difficult for even the most able bodied individuals.

Thank you Wendy. This helped a lot. I will rent a folding wheel chair for my mom so that she is able to leave the ship. She is mobile, just has breathing problems and can walk up/down a couple of steps. Thank you again.

Keep in mind that every ship and port is different. She may be able to get off in every port or none at all.

You will have lots of help and assistance from the crew at both tender and berthed ports. If the gangway is steep two crew members will take your mom down the gangway backwards.

The problem with Grand Cayman is that it can get rough from a wave standpoint.
