Will we miss holiday decorations/activities? (Dec. 26-31st)

The family and I will be cruising from December 26th through December 31st. According to this Carnival FAQ page, it would seem as though all of the Christmas decorations will come down the day after Christmas (when we board) and there won't be any celebration for New Years until the 31st (when we debark).

 

Can anyone who's been on board during these dates chime in on what we can expect?
