Will Celebrity Millenium cruise through Victoria Habour

Given how busy Victoria Harbour is on any given day with local maritime traffic, I am doubtful that, unless ship is coming in from the southwest via Lamma or Lantau channels) for good old Ocean Terminal to dock, that the Millenium will do a pass thru. I could be wrong ... of course.

Like the newest Gentling & mega-ship, the Dream - with KT being one of the homeport, they will pretty much sail in/out due east (Yau Tong toward Tung Lung Chau) ... the wake (waves) generated by these ships pose safety hazards for small boats & ferries that criss-cross the deep harbour.

With reclaimed landfills displacing the harbour, the Star Ferry terminal on the island side is pretty far out into the water - the crossing is a quick 5 to 10 minutes, unlike the good days. Nearby at Kwun Tong, close to KTCT, there is a cross harbour ferry services to North Point, with connections to Hung Hom and Kowloon Bay, etc. Just east of Golden Bauhinia Square in Wan Chai, there is another ferry route to Kowloon's Tsim Sha Tsui, also run by Star Ferry ... it's a longer trip and just as scenic. All of them have frequent services - a matter of prioritizing what's important to you for your short stay/visit.

Make use of the official HK tourism website, it has tips, useful info & links - you will need exact change and/or local currency, the Octopus Card will simplify matters in getting around - it's also valid for purchases as a debit card at 7-11's, McDonalds and many retail stores displaying the symbol.

Thank you very much!

Well ... what do you know, there is a chance of your wish being come true when the ship sail into HK on your port of call - might want to check those on the Roll Call ahead of yours to see if someone can find out.

I just came across the inaugural sailing of another line's newest mega-ship, Genting's Dream (homeport is HK) and she definitely came thru the "narrow" Victoria Harbour (don't worry, the water channel is very, very deep) west to east, before turning north for the old airport runway, now the KTCT - here's the link. It's a nice aerial view - looking very familiar to us, as the ship is basically the *Away class ships in the NCL fleet.

This next video gives you a pretty good idea of the size/scale & proximity of the terminal to the nearest landmarks, hotels, local places, etc. on this ex-airport runway. Gov't urban planners have revised & approved plans to build 2 upscale hotels on site, next to the terminal - should be online within 2 years or so.
