I admit I only did a brief search, but has this idea, or a similar one, been in any of the forums? ....on any cruise line? :)

Elegant Night

1st seating in MDR; Cruise Elegant??

2nd seating in MDR - Cruise Casual??

Or some version in different dining venues?

The reason I ask is that most of the cruises I have been on, the MDR always seemed to have a mix of each at both seating's:confused::)?

Which is due mostly to the fact that Carnival does not ENFORCE their dress code, which is actually more of just a "suggestion."

Since the early and late seatings is more to accommodate the number of passenger that need to be fed, it would be a stretch to offer casual in one seating and elegant in the other. Once assigned, you really don't have the option of switching times.

Never heard of anything like that on any cruise I've ever been on.

Because of the choices given by Carnival:

Cruise Elegant Dress Code

  • Men: dress slacks, dress shirts, and we also suggest a sport coat; men may also wish to wear a suit and tie or tuxedo
  • Women: Cocktail dresses, pantsuits, elegant skirts and blouses; ladies may also wish to wear an evening gown

Really a bad idea for many reasons. Have you been on a Carnival ship lately, they can't even enforce one dress code.
