We always book the same area on all our cruises, but with the different layout of the aft of the Sunshine, I am looking to your expert :p opinion on what cabin to book.

We always get a balcony now. We are in our early 50's .

I have a cabin booked that I noticed is over the casino. Just wondering if this will be a bad location ? Should I move to the front of the ship ? Any i should avoid ?

I am in shock at how much of the ship is already sold out !!! our cruise is still over a year away !

Thanks for any help. :)

We were just on Sunshine in balcony room 7293. Loved it. 2 floors up to Lido. 2 floors down to Promenade. Close to stairs and elevators but not right next to them. Rooms above and below. There was a refrigerator in the room. Room Steward was great.

We were in 7277 on our last 2 cruises - the MDR was near our elevators, as were the Ocean Plaza and the Lido.

We liked it for the reasons quoted above as well as the fact that on deck 7 there are cabins above and below you so noise was not a problem.

Thank you for the suggestions, all those cabins are booked  I cant believe we are this far out and so many cabins are already booked.

But when I call to change my cabin I will ask about them anyway. It seems deck 7 is the deck to chose.

Some decks have refrigerators in the cabins and some do not. For example, I'm booked on deck 8 for a cruise on Sunshine next month and I don't have a refrigerator in my cabin. Not sure if that matters to you.

Just curious how do you know you don't have a refrigerator? I've been on 10 cruises w/4 different cruise lines and never had a cabin without a fridge. I guess I just assume all cabins have them like all hotel rooms I've stayed in.

I'll be on the Sunshine in February on deck 8 and this now has me concerend.

Thanks.

Deck 5 cabins are great. Newly added to Sunshine and is a quiet part of the ship. Close to all eating areas. Breakfast in Ocean Plaza has hot breakfast.

Our favorite deck on the Sunshine

The Sunshine did start out without fridges in some cabins. However, I believe most if not all have them now.

I'm sailing on the Sunshine in February, and most of the Cloud 9 balconies on Deck 10 are still available. Noise may be a bit of an issue since those are somewhat close to the elevators, but I imagine it would beat being under the Lido deck on Deck 8.

You can find the deck plan here:

https://www.carnival.com/~/media/Images/Ships/SH/DeckPlans/carnival-sunshine-deck-plan-pdf.pdf

Be sure to pay attention to the placement of the elevators on the deck plan, as you may have to mentally adjust the decks above and below you on the plan. Obviously the aft (back) edge of all of the decks do not line up with each other like they are shown in the illustration.

Have you looked at the L-shaped balconies on Deck 6, aft?

Those are the cabins we usually book (8x) thats why i'm not sure what cabin to choose LOL As I said earlier I cant believe how much of this ship is already sold out !! The cruise is still over a year away !:eek:

no problem those are the greatest cabins ever !!

I will try giving a call later. With being right above the casino now i'm not only concerned about the smoke smell but also hearing bells and whistles during the night.

My mistake.

Is there a special charter maybe? Is this sailing a unique itinerary? Not sure otherwise why so many cabins would be gone.

Too bad the cabins on deck 5 are all gone. That's the best location on the ship in my opinion with cabins of every type back there. Good luck.

Google is your friend :D

I would spend some time online searching for your ship name and the date of your booking - try using a number of different formats for the date - to see if there's a big group that's on your cruise. Depending on the size and type of a group it may or may not have an impact on your experience.

Checked in with uncle google, couldn't find anything, even asked my pvp .

I'm thinking its because its such a great itinerary and it was a great price and a reduced deposit.

Day 1 Port Canaveral, Florida

Day 2 At Sea

Day 3 At Sea

Day 4 Oranjestad, Aruba

Day 5 Willemstad, Curacao

Day 6 At Sea

Day 7 Grand Turk Island

Day 8 At Sea

Day 9 Port Canaveral, Florida

Guess I'm going to have to keep an eye open for different cabins to open up.

I was able to move up a deck to deck 7 midship port side, it was $20 more pp but there was a resident sale on for $25 obc pp so we still come out $5 ahead :p:p I did have to pay my hubby's deposit since we booked under the half price deposit sale. But I knew that I would have to pay it if I came across any price drops. Thanks for all the help
