Noise and lights in Promenade cabins

We just got back from the Explorer this morning. We had a promenade cabin on deck six and the noise from the music in the pub - thump thump thump... went on til almost midnight one night. The room was also really small, wardrobe space limited compared to the balcony room we had previously on the Voyager. We also had one half of a 'family room' and could hear the neighbours chatting. The room was dark though, the lights of the promenade weren't an issue. We'll definitely be having a balcony room next time.

I will be doing a Promenade window view on Mariner next, next February for my birthday. I was slightly concerned about noise so I picked a higher deck, but I still wanted the view, it seems cool. I remember being on Freedom and being slightly jealous of the people looking out of their windows down at the ""city"". Based on what I've read here, I should be fine. Now to just...wait. ha
