Anyone done the Anthem 7-Day itinerary?

We only booked Anthem because it's the only one besides NCL ships (with no indoor pool) that sail out of NY/NJ area in March and we wanted to visit NYC before our cruise (will stay there 5 nights). We have been in all ports, but a cruise is what you make of it, so... we will have a perfect cruise for sure...We will cruise just after you ;)

My wife is trying to convince me to do the 7-day Bahamas itinerary in March. I'm skeptical of the weather and the ports. I look at a 3 hour Amtrak ride from DC to NJ as the same as a 3 hour flight to Florida. Glad to see I'm not the only skeptic.

I have just returned from the Dec 9 sailing.

 

If everything is equal, I would definitely prefer to sail out of Florida on one of the Oasis class ship. However, because we are traveling as a family, the cost of the flight itself for 4 from Ontario, will almost be enough to pay for another cruise with the kids sail free promo. Thus, I am willing to put up with the boring itinerary in exchange for being able to do 2 cruises a year.

 

Besides, unlike the Breakaway or the Gem, the Anthem is a great ship to be sailing out of NJ in winter time as it has plennty of indoor facilities and activities. But during months of warmer weather, I prefer the Breakaway or even the Gem.
