GrahamCrackerLackin Posted December 5, 2016 #1 Share Posted December 5, 2016 Hey all! I was just wondering how the time line for the reception went? Did they have a specific order for the events of the reception or did they let you pick and choose the times? How did yours go? Also were you able to nix things that you didn't want like the flower toss/garter toss?
ImaginationCruiseBride Posted December 5, 2016 #2 Share Posted December 5, 2016 We did not have the flower/garter toss. Basically the reception is immediately after the ceremony. For ours at least the guests were there and made an entrance, the first dance was first, then cake cutting, then we mingled and about 15 minutes before the end we did pictures with our guests. It was a very small wedding (only 24 guests) so we took individual pictures with each guest/group and a couple pictures with everybody. I wanted most of our pictures to include our two daughters (we have one adult daughter each) and since the girls were sailing with us, those pictures weren't taken until after the other guests left. The photographer also took photos of our daughters "witnessing" the marriage license. Other that that we didn't have any of the "usual" wedding pictures. Most of the pictures were taken after the guests left but before muster. Oh we also had them send the left over cake to the kitchen to be served with dinner that night. The photographer surprised us by showing up at dinner for more pictures (we were all still in our wedding clothes) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
thecocoarose Posted December 28, 2016 #3 Share Posted December 28, 2016 We were able to pick and choose what we wanted in our reception and we did all the traditional things such as garter toss, bouquet toss, first dance, groom and mom dance, and toasts. We opted not to use the reception time to take too many posed pics because we really just wanted to dance and have fun. We took many pictures after the beach ceremony. We were too tired to take pics after the reception so there were many poses we didn't get but I think it was better for us to have focused on spending the time enjoying our guests.
