Embarking and debarking times in Civitaveccia

I'm trying to plan our days pre and post cruise and have a couple of questions.

What time do they normally start boarding and what is the latest for a 5 p.m. sail away? I thought that I read somewhere on NCL's pages that we had to be on board 2 hours before but I cannot find that page again now.

On the final day, we are not in any particular rush as we have a late flight out of Rome. Is there any particular debarking strategy that I need to know. Is any time better than any other?

Finally, we have not cruised in Europe before, so what are the Customs/passport procedure like and is it a hassle? We are both EU citizens if that makes any difference. We had a terrible time leaving in Puerto Rico last year and were stuck for 2 hours in what can only be described as a sauna, waiting to pass through the control point. I really don't want to go through that or similar again.

Thanks in advance for any help.
