I just tried to book butts up cave tubing. Got this email back....

Thank you for contacting us.

I'm sorry, NCL Is not allowing independent tour operators to pic up guests at Harvest Caye.

Regards,

Yhony

Has anyone else heard of this? Is there a way around it. I'm very frustrated with NCL right now....

when are you cruising to belize? I am going in August 2017 and want to go cave tubing. I'd be interested to know if you've tried any other companies. we might be stuck on the man made island *sigh*

Just a note. NCL's Belize port is now Harvest Caye. the cave-tubing site used by ships going to Belize City is a long ways away from HC. HC is an island and you need to get tot he mainland in order to head out on excursions like Maya ruins, etc. As I recall reading recently, the dock facilities for the ferries from HC isn't fully completed. And the entrance road isn't completely surfaced(?). Someone who's been there in the past month and gone tot he mainland may have an update. Thus NCL is limiting providers to those contracting with the ship.

Cave tubing is only available to cruise guests visiting Belize City. Even if the independent operators could pick you up from Harvest Caye, cave tubing is just not feasible from Southern Belize. Land transfer to the cave tubing site alone would take about 3 hours and that does not include the time it would take to get you from the island to the mainland.
