MickeyP Posted December 12, 2016 #1 Share Posted December 12, 2016 Viking Air has made our flight arrangements for our West Indies Explorer Cruise. I questioned the return flight after the cruise that they scheduled for us. They informed me that the Viking Star Docks in San Juan at 3AM in the morning and we would have plenty of time to make the 815AM flight back home. Clearing immigration could be an issue. Any thoughts or has anyone had that situation?

Any thoughts or has anyone had that situation? Yes, it happens frequently. You will be on a pre-dawn bus to the airport. There is not much that you can do to change your flights since Viking is not offering custom air on your itinerary. If Viking is putting you on a flight that early, then they are sure that they can get you to the airport in time.
Not a Georgia Peach Posted December 13, 2016 #3 Share Posted December 13, 2016 We were on the West Indies Cruise in November and had the 8:15 AM flight out of San Juan. There was no problem getting to the airport on time and getting through immigration, we had plenty of time to sit and wait for boarding. The major issue was getting up so early to get to the airport. Wandalust725 Posted December 13, 2016 #4 Share Posted December 13, 2016 Boy, I sure wish they would have booked us on a flight that early. We have to kill time until the afternoon until we fly out of San Juan.
It's a Fair Port Posted December 13, 2016 #5 Share Posted December 13, 2016 Boy, I sure wish they would have booked us on a flight that early. We have to kill time until the afternoon until we fly out of San Juan. We were on a 5:00 flight and were at the airport at 10 am. The airport wasn't crowded so we went to Delta to see if we could get an earlier flight. We waitlisted for a 2 pm to ATL and it was well worth the $50 extra not to have to sit around any longer. At least in ATL we were able to wait for our late connection home in Comfort at the Sky Club. Check with your airline and see if you can do something similar. SJU is not an exciting place to sit around.

What happens if you don't get on the flight due to no cancellation, because you gave up your seats on the later flight , right

I was concerned about that too.
