heath7767 Posted December 13, 2016 #1 Share Posted December 13, 2016 We'll be travelling with our 3 kids, ages 3-8. Would love some opinions about whether this tour is a good fit for young ones. Thanks!
Rare crewsweeper Posted December 13, 2016 #2 Share Posted December 13, 2016 Do you mean the Grand Tour or the City/Splash tour? I would think the latter would hold children's interest more, be shorter, includes food. Versus long bus rides, a bunch of buildings and only a short time at the beach at the end. We're looking at the Grand Tour, especially because I think my kids would love the fort. We live in a beach town, so the beach isn't a high priority for us at all. We live in a beach town, so the beach isn't a high priority for us at all. We did this tour. The fort is pretty cool (mainly the views- not a huge amount to see "fort" wise) but the steps up to the main part are pretty wide/steep and tiring! With kids in the 3-8 range, they may fly up these stairs or very quickly get tired out!! We jokingly said that if we were fighting a war there, we'd give up just to avoid those stairs!! Also, if I remember correctly, there are quite a few areas around the fort that have drop offs with no rails or barriers of any kind, so need to watch your step, especially with little ones! That is really helpful. My three little ones are boys with lots of energy, so they'll probably handle the stairs better than us--haha! I will make sure everyone wears good shoes that day.
