TODAY in the news

CHRISTMAS, Fla. (WWSB) – Rescue crews are currently on scene assisting an accident in the St. Johns River where officials say an airboat overturned.

ABC9 (WFTV) reports that the airboat, operated by Old Fashioned Airboats, overturned in the St. Johns River after colliding into a second airboat.

An Orange County Fire Rescue spokesperson told WFTV that three people were injured during the event and transported to the hospital. Officials say the airboat was carrying eight people when it overturned.

Not the first time this has happened. Altho these vessels DO fall under USCG enforcement, oversight is . . .

Not sayin' don't ... but be aware ...... btw one of those in today's event was evacuated by helo in serious condition ... a few years ago, a child was killed ....
