Can you use dive booties as your water shoes?

Aren't dive booties soft on the bottom, more like a sock? The water shoes have a hard sole so when you step on coral, rocks or broken shells it doesn't hurt the bottom of your foot. If the booties are hard soled I guess you could use them.

We always use our dive booties as water shoes. They have a thick sole and they stay on better than the water shoes.

ditto the above...but our dive booties are ankle high and look dorky:) I'd find water shoes or TEVA sandals if I was going to be walking any amount of time.

I always use my dive booties as water shoes. They stay on better and are very comfortable. Even wore mine to climb Dunn's River Falls a few years ago. Believe me, while climbing the falls I didn't care how "dorky" they looked!

We too always use our dive booties.....ours have ribbed thick rubber bottoms. It is just a personal preference. Of course we are usually diving when in the water so it just makes sense for us. I would not wear them for just walking on the beach or around town for sure !
