Anything specical for New Years Day?

Hi all... was just wondering if Carnival (especially the Fantasy) had a special dinner on New Years Day (not Eve). Just wondering if I needed to pack two formal dresses or just one. Thanks in advance!

Nothing special was done on New Years Day.

for her first New Year's Eve sailing, we had free champagne, party hats and noise makers. And the entire ship "stopped" (not literally) for the "countdown". We haven't done a New Year's since, but we really had a good time on that one.

I doubt very much that Jan 1st will be a formal night- this is the day you will be arriving onboard. Many people wont have their luggage by dinenr time--let alone get ready for a formal evening.
