travellerin1984 Posted January 5, 2017 #1 Share Posted January 5, 2017 (edited) Hi! We are considering Constellation cruise from Abu Dhabi to India (Mangalore, Goa and Bombay) next January. I would like hear some experiences about the cruise and especially about the ports in India. Did you enjoy them? I am interested in visiting India but I am hesitant about the sea days. Might be to many for us... Especially when Constellation is a smaller ship. We've been to Dubai, Muscat and Abu Dhabi before so we are considering the cruise mainly because of the ports in India. I appreciate any comments! :) Tuesday, January 2 Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates Wednesday, January 3 Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates 1:00pm Thursday, January 4 Muscat, Oman Noon 8:00pm Friday, January 5 At Sea Saturday, January 6 At Sea Sunday, January 7 At Sea Monday, January 8 Mangalore, India 9:00am 6:00pm Tuesday, January 9 Goa (Mormugao), India 7:00am 6:00pm Wednesday, January 10 Bombay (Mumbai), India 9:00am 6:00pm Thursday, January 11 At Sea Friday, January 12 At Sea Saturday, January 13 Dubai, United Arab Emirates 11:00am 10:00pm Sunday, January 14 Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates 5:00am Edited January 5, 2017 by travellerin1984
Orator Posted January 5, 2017 #2 Share Posted January 5, 2017 Just back from this fantastic cruise! India was a land of contrast and traffic, traffic, traffic. Suggest in Goa you find a private tour since the ships tours were disappointing to many. Disembarkation was improved from the previous cruise since Indian Immigration was on board to process passengers. One take away for me is that India is grossly unprepared for tourism. Any problems we experienced were caused by Indian personnel at the ports. Celebrity has suggested some changes in procedures, but so far the local authorities aren't listening. Many of the arriving flights to Abu Dhabi were in quite early (mine was 6:20 am). If you had a Celebrity transfer you were met at the airport and bused to a lovely Hotel for a really good breakfast. They also issued Seapass cards so no need to do that at Terminal. They then transported you you the ship. Very, very nice service. I'm certain that you will have an interesting time.
