Rare APDMOM Posted January 10, 2017 Author #104 Share Posted January 10, 2017 The mushroom cappuccino is delicious and I don't like mushrooms! I never went to the coffee bar on Glory but read somewhere that some of the pastries are free, did you find that to be the case? Carnival Glory - Western Caribbean June 2016 Wow! I did not even think to ask. I saw pastries and cake with prices, but did not look at the details. We live on a strict "cruise budget", so we try to limit our onboard spending in order to cruise more :D I hope I did not miss out on anything FREE... good excuse to book another cruise and go check it out. Rare APDMOM Posted January 10, 2017 Author #108 Share Posted January 10, 2017 (edited) My View: Day 4: Willemstad, Curaçao So, we slowly cruise along to approach Curaçao for our afternoon arrival, and it rains.... I mean, it pours: May as well throw in a little ship tour, since we spent the morning on the ship. Let's explore deck 4: The library (with more Fun Hub computers): You could also pick up games... Rare APDMOM Posted January 10, 2017 Author #110 Share Posted January 10, 2017 These stairs lead to the taste bar - a short cut from 4-5 if you want to avoid the casino stairs or elevator crowds: Conference room (Art auction location): There are some quiet spaces on deck 4 (we waited here to debark): Sent from my iPad using Forums
Rare APDMOM Posted January 10, 2017 Author #111 Share Posted January 10, 2017 Like a typical Caribbean storm, the rain came, and the rain went. We docked just in time for a beautiful, sunny day: Note about Curaçao: We did a tour previously on a different cruise. It was the historic tour of Willemstad. Although it was interesting, the tour guide was a bit hard to hear, and we decided to just walk on our own this time. When we were here on Carnival Freedom, the area by Fort Rif was very quiet and we ran into some questionable characters at night. This time was quite a contrast! Willemstad has undergone extensive renovations (still working on paving streets with bricks) and the area by Fort Rif has grown into an active tourist spot in the evening. It was a very pleasant walk by day and night. Rare APDMOM Posted January 10, 2017 Author #113 Share Posted January 10, 2017 Willemstad is quite photogenic: The floating bridge was open (to ship traffic)/ closed (to pedestrians) .... I never know what open means for this bridge... [emoji3] So, we took the free ferry across to Punda: Sent from my iPad using Forums

Rare APDMOM Posted January 10, 2017 Author #117 Share Posted January 10, 2017 Rif Fort now has quite a few restaurants: By the Renaissance Resort: Our ship: We went back to the ship for dinner, just to head out after dark for evening pictures of Willemstad (thank you, Etchdreams, for making this a fun that evening!): I must have "spooked" the camera [emoji3] What is a Dutch Island without Delft? Carolina Girl 99 Posted January 10, 2017 #121 Share Posted January 10, 2017 PERFECT timing on a really nice review! I have never sailed Carnival and came to the boards earlier today to get some recommendations on the 3 ships that sail out of Port Canaveral as that is a pretty quick and easy drive for us. Magic got the majority of the votes, so I am anxiously following your review :)

mrsstege Posted January 10, 2017 #124 Share Posted January 10, 2017 The Carnival Hub app is a GREAT feature! (It worked most of the time) Remember to download it before you leave home. It will not work until you board the ship, but there are many features you can use without paying for internet. This included the daily schedule and open times of venues on the ship. I took a few screen shots. Also, you could see your onboard account (spending) on the app. Carnival no longer prints out a copy of your spending, so a screen shot of your account is a great way to know what your final bill will be. Alternately, you can use a kiosk to print your bill, or go to guest services to get a hard copy. The kiosks did not work well - the screens are getting old and they do not recognize touch well. Here is one of the kiosks (left in the picture): Carnival hub app screen shots: You can tap on the stars to the left of the activity to add it to your favorites.
