I am torn between wanting a young pilot who looks darn healthy, v. an older pilot with many years of experience........:eek:

 

Absolutely! You sure don't want some overweight old dude having a grabber when your a couple thousand feet up flying in what amounts to a mosquito.

 

The Temsco pilot from the photos above... She was US military pilot - I don't recall the branch. Plenty of experience without one foot in the grave...and she's cute, too. I love this woman.

I agree with all of the great recommendations, above.

 

If you are fearful of flying, however, there are some good alternatives.

 

Whale watching in Juneau is fab! Seeing whales is guaranteed!

 

The White Pass and Yukon Railroad in Skagway is wonderful for rail buffs and history buffs.

 

The totem excursions in Ketchikan are also wonderful.
