Poker on Sapphire?

Hi. My husband is interested in Princess because they have poker in some of their casinos (not house poker: three-card, caribbean stud...but real player vs. player poker).

According to the Ocean Player's Club website, the Sapphire does offer poker (looks like Texas Hold'em is the only game they spread, though). But when we called Princess to talk to them about the Sapphire and the cruise, they claimed there is NO real poker aboard the Sapphire, and that we had been misinformed.

I did a search here of the previous posts, but no one actually claims to have played onboard the Sapphire. I just got results where the poster referenced the Ocean Player's Club website.

Does anyone know if Princess is misinformed? Has anyone actually played real poker aboard the Sapphire and can confirm this for me before I book?

TIA!

I contacted Ocean Players via email and inquired about the number of tables on the Grand - 4 & Diamond - 1. I'd suggest you email Ocean Players and ask them.

We will be on the Grand in a few weeks and Diamond in 6 months - for one month! Love playing poker!

I had inquired on this topic earlier, and a passenger just off the Mexican cruise told me they definitely had hold-em every night.

I also saw some platters advertising hold-em.

Please ask your husband to post after the cruise...I am interested in how the game is, and if it is difficult to get a seat. Would I be better off booking early or late dinner if I want to play poker.

Thanks

I will definitely get back to you on that. We are both poker players, but I'm so burnt out on HE that I probably won't even be interested. I love that the poker boom came along and brought poker more into the mainstream, but I hate that it has killed almost every other game save Hold'em. Oh, well.

I would think that having early dinner would be better for playing poker, but who knows, since I've never been on the Sapphire. We were only allowed to pick Personal Choice. It listed everything else as sold out.

Good luck!
