Was just able to change from our C3 to a FV 9197. It just came up on the Celebrity website and I grabbed it. Our cruise is not for another 5 months and I was told I could be bumped if a family of 5 wanted it. Has anyone been bumped? My TA says she has never had anyone bumped and the worst that could happen would be I would end up with a C3 again.I am pretty excited.

Congrats on grabbing a great cabin.

 

We've sailed in this category several times (party of two) and have yet to be bumped. My opinion is that whenever =X= opens this category to general inventory, then it's available to anyone, regardless of party size.

The last time we sailed FV (a little less than 2 years ago), there was a solo passenger traveling in one of the other FVs.

 

Some posters suggest Celebrity opens them up to general inventory after final payment date if not booked by a larger party (family, etc), however like your own experience, we have sometimes found them available much earlier.

You can call celebrity and ask them to mark your reservation "No Upgrades". It is not clear whether this is effective (or does anything at all), but they will do it and it doesn't hurt.
