Cruise passengers sue Royal Caribbean over Jamaican bus ride excursion gone wrong

Sounds like it was a bus trip from Hell! I wonder if you can even sue in the US if this happened in Jamacia? BTW: The video from the report is not related to this article.

The article made the bus driver out to be reckless, and I expected the wreck to be from him speeding or hitting someone else or losing control. Article goes on to say another driver came into his lane and hit him and he simply did not react fast enough??? Horrible tragedy, but I guess there's no money in claiming some poor Jamaican that crossed into your lane is at fault.

Was on board Independence when this happened.

 

I can't see them getting anything either, but never know.

 

Feel more sorry for the family who it was the wife/mother died while on vacation with her young daughter.....what a terrible tragedy on a mother/daughter vacation!

Getting compensation will be a long shot.

For almost all excursions RCI is only the Travel Agent. Not likely they will be able to collect anything.

It's going to be hard to collect only because of where it happened.

 

However, I think if an excursion is booked through RCI and the could be held jointly and severably liable (I think that is the phrase) for the negligence of their agents.

 

But I'm a bean counter...not an attorney.
