We been one RC and two disney cruises. We were very pleased with both cruiseline meals. We didnt mind the rotating restaurants on Disney, nor staying in one dining room on RC. We were thinking of rotating between all three MDR on our up coming cruise on the getaway. We do enjoy a good meal, but we are not interested in spending more money on specialty dining. Our family doesnt enjoy the business of buffets. Whats the difference between all three restaurants?? Any suggestions on best free supper options?

Thanks

Taste and Savor are almost identical dining rooms located across from each other on Deck 6 toward the back of the ship. One side of the menu changes every night and the other does not.

Tropicana is located at the back of the ship on Deck 7. It is supposed to replica a Miami Supper of the 1940's and 50's. The Burn the Floor cast perform on the dance floor at least one night a cruise. It tends to get very noisy sometimes.

The food choices are the same each night in all three. So the difference is just ambience and wait time. Hint: if there's a long wait at Taste, sign up to get the buzzer. Then walk over to Savor and get a buzzer there. (If there's a long wait, there'll be a wait at both. If the wait is short this hint is may be too much trouble.)

Keep track of which buzzer is which. When one buzzer goes off, quickly take the quiet buzzer to the proper restaurant hostess and cancel the request or do that after you've gotten your table. It's a bit of a hassle but can save wait time. The waiting area is right close to each restaurant so it's not a big distance to cover...

Tropicana tends to be the more "formal" of the dining rooms. Designed to be a supper club with live music and [some] dancing every night. The Burn the Floor cast does a couple of mini-shows,,,, but unless you have a table along the dance floor, most tables wont see much.

The menus in all three MDRs are similar/same.

Other complimentary dining options include O'Shehan's, modeled after a british pub (open 24/7) serves a standard dinner menu with nightly specials (prime rib, ribs, seafood basket). Shanghi serves Asian foods. And the buffet which serves an wide assortment of international foods (and is pretty good for casual dining).

Thanks so much, this helps us out with making our booking in two days.

You don't need reservations for the min dining rooms, just show up

There have been complaints about service in Tropicana being slower than the other free DR's.

Pace could be influenced by the fact that is a dinner show venue, delays fit the evening.

Tropicana was our favorite venue for dinner, we loved the entertainment. It isn't just Burn the floor, some nights it is a band that plays for guesta to dance or just enjoy the music. There is a good variety.

One night in Tropicana our waiter went up on stage and sang a song. He was very good but it did effect the pace of our meal, to say the least :D

Do you recall the nights they preform burn the floor at the meal?
